John H. Konzen – Consultant and Inspection Specialists

Mr. Konzen has a diversified experience level in the construction industry. His 40-year career includes 4-years with Chicago Bridge and Iron (CBI) as a welding engineer involved in various tank construction aspects such as welding procedure development, NDE, coatings and construction of ASME, AWWA and API Storage Tanks. He has performed comprehensive tank integrity assessments and provided the consulting services and technical specifications for the rehabilitation and construction on a multitude of water storage tanks. Additionally, his role as the Welding and Coatings Inspector on water storage tank construction gives him the ability to effectively manage and direct the quality assurance on any water storage project in accordance with the industry standards.

Justin Konzen – Consultant and Inspection Specialists

Justin has a well diversified work background and brings many opportunities to HOT. As well as being AMPP Level II Certified Coatings Inspector, Justin is a certified PADI Open Water SCUBA diver and holds his FAA UAS pilots license. He has a diverse knowledge of construction activities in the tank construction and coating industry as a welding and AMPP Coatings Inspector. He has been assigned to tank projects as a field observer and 3rd party inspector.  Justin is involved with comprehensive tank integrity assessments and the review of technical specifications for the rehabilitation and construction projects.  Additionally Justin serves as the Integrated Technology Manager,ROV, and Drone Operations.

  • 2018-Current – Vice President, HOT Inspection Services, Inc., Round Rock, Texas. A firm which provides tank inspection and consulting, coatings inspection, structural steel inspection, underwater inspection, welding consulting, welder training and testing.
  • 2014 – 2018 – Oil and Gas Industry assignments included a project engineer at Total Oilfield, a manufacturing company. There he designed and drafted valves, BOP’s, and other equipment, as well as oversaw the quality control and drafted PR2 specs for testing. Served as a field engineer at Elite Compression, a gas compression company. There he was in charge of maintaining and operating 18,000 horsepower in the Eagle Ford Shale. At NOV (Reed-Hycalog) was a sales engineer in Midland, Tx. There he created sales, maintained relationships, and managed field operations
